Every command goes through VeSync's cloud. Home Assistant hit thousands of rate-limit errors and the guard alarms on our greenhouse went blind.

The cloud test

Before you buy anything, ask one question: if I unplug my internet, does this still work from my own app or hub?

If the answer is no, it’s renting you a feature. The company can rate-limit you, change the app, go out of business, or have a bad afternoon, and your lights, pumps, or alarms go with it.

That’s fine for holiday lights. It’s not fine for a greenhouse, a freezer, or anything you’d lose sleep over.
